The Greater Clark Virtual Academy (GCVA) offers students in grades 9–12 a flexible, supportive way to complete their high school education—without sacrificing connection or quality.
Students enrolled in GCVA participate in live, virtual core classes taught by Greater Clark County Schools teachers, ensuring they receive the same high-quality instruction as their peers. Each student is provided with a Chromebook and benefits from daily live check-ins with a GCVA Coordinator for ongoing support and progress monitoring. In addition, students have access to a GCCS school counselor to help guide them academically and personally.
While learning takes place online, GCVA students still have opportunities to stay connected through milestone events such as Prom and Graduation (please note: athletics are not included).
Since its launch in the 2021–2022 school year, GCVA has achieved a 100% graduation rate, demonstrating the strength of its model and the success of its students.

Earning the Governor’s Work Ethic Certificate (GWEC) is no small feat. To qualify, seniors must meet the state’s rigorous criteria: maintaining a 98% attendance rate, holding a 2.0+ GPA, completing 6 hours of community service, and consistently demonstrating the core PRIDE traits (Persistence, Respectfulness, Initiative, Dependability, and Efficiency). To celebrate this achievement, our earners met face-to-face with regional business leaders over a catered brunch to talk about what comes next.
The morning focused on real-world applications and authentic professional connections:
THE IMPACT: Earning a Governor’s Work Ethic Certificate means that multiple adults and educators have put their names behind a student’s character, verifying trust built through consistent behavior. This certificate is not a finish line, but proof that our graduates are entirely ready for what comes next. By directly connecting these students with regional employers who value character as currency, Greater Clark is actively launching a proven, highly disciplined generation of young professionals into the Southern Indiana workforce.
Thank you to Lance Allison, our alumni panelists, and our local industry partners who selflessly volunteered their time to network with and mentor the GWEC earners!
