A committee consisting of over sixty stakeholders worked collaboratively over the last few months to construct a strategic plan that will provide a new direction for the district’s future. The strategic planning process began soon after Superintendent Laughner assessed the district’s current situation. The committee analyzed data to gain an understanding of the strengths and needs of the district from the perspective of its internal and external stakeholders. As a result of the work, the committee then developed the strategic plan that addressed financial responsibility, climate and culture, community partnerships and quality academics.

Thank you to our parents, students, staff and community members who provided feedback about the proposed strategic plan, as well as the proposed facility plan. Your input is vital as the district’s Administration and Board of School Trustees make decisions regarding the future direction of Greater Clark County Schools.

On October 1st, the Board of School Trustees approved an amended strategic plan. The district will delay the decision to restructure the delivery of related arts until further exploration can be completed to determine the best option for our students. Also, a final recommendation for the restructuring of the preschool program will be taken to the Board for a vote before the end of the calendar year. The River Valley Middle School pool will remain open until major repairs are needed at which time this will recommendation will be reevaluated.

We’re committed to preparing our students for lifelong success. Through bridging excellence and opportunities, we can nurture strong relationships, remain student-centered, and hold ourselves accountable as we pursue continuous improvements. Click the image below to view our comprehensive plan!
